Ginevra Di Marco in “Kaleidoscope Tour”

The deep literary reflection on the concept of “matrilinearity” will find its perfect and natural sublimation on stage at 10:00 pm with the awaited concert by Ginevra Di Marco. No name could have sealed this night better than hers: Di Marco was indeed the melodic soul of C.S.I. in the nineties and was among the leading voices on that very record Matrilineare from 1996, which inspired the entire talk.

Accompanied by her long-time formation — featuring on stage Francesco Magnelli (piano and magnellophones, co-founder of C.S.I. and PGR as well as creator of the Stazioni Lunari workshop), Andrea Salvadori (guitars and tzouras, former musical dramatist for Compagnia della Fortezza and winner of the 2018 Ubu Prize) and Pino Gulli on drums —, Ginevra will bring to the Livorno stage the live performance of her latest acclaimed record, “Kaleidoscope”, winner of the Targa Tenco 2025 for Best Interpreter (the fourth for her collection after those of 2000, 2009, and 2017).

Born from a special encounter with “paesologist” Franco Arminio after almost five years of studio research, Kaleidoscope is a continuous emotional and sonic flow in which music regains its ancestral value of collective ritual. The show will intertwine languages and folk songs from the Mediterranean and South America, stories of rights, migrations, and the female condition, openly dialoguing with the historical pieces from her alternative rock repertoire and with tributes to masters and fellow travelers like Franco Battiato, CSI, and Fabrizio De André, even recalling civil encounters with Mercedes Sosa, Luis Sepúlveda, and Margherita Hack. A monumental journey spanning over thirty years of expressive freedom that concludes at Effetto Venezia, reaffirming Di Marco as one of the most necessary and eclectic voices of our time.
