At 10:00 PM, written and spoken word will give way to the rhythmic density and tight metrics of one of the noble fathers and absolute pioneers of national hip hop: Frankie hi-nrg mc. The Livorno stage of Piazza del Luogo Pio fits in as a crucial appointment of the innovative summer tour “VOICE AND DRUMS”, an intentionally essential, raw and radical artistic project. The aim of the performance is to strip the songs of any superstructure to give centrality solely to the word, pure rhythm, and interpretation.

To embody this sonic challenge, Frankie hi-nrg mc will take the stage accompanied solely by the groove of drummer Donato Stolfi. This novel formula will generate a powerful sound impact that directly recalls the primordial spirit of the origins of hip hop, highlighting the extraordinary relevance of the historical lyrics of the artist from Turin (born in 1969), famous since his groundbreaking debut in 1992 with the protest song “Fight da Faida” and author of the autobiographical book “I do my thing”.

The show will be an unmissable opportunity to listen live, alongside the great classics of the repertoire, to the tracks of the eponymous album “VOICE AND DRUMS”, released by the independent label Materie Prime Circolari. The album is a refined and choral artistic laboratory boasting collaborations of excellence with the greatest names of the Italian scene, including Tiziano Ferro, Elisa, Emma, Diodato, Raiz, and the promise Lina Simons, embellished by custom-made unpublished verses from two giants like Jovanotti (for the song “Pedal and drums”) and Fabri Fibra (for “Autodafé and drums”), ready to resonate in the night of Effetto Venezia.
