Photograph. “Evening at the Palace” with Mario Mencacci

For the cycle “Evening at the Palace”, the photographic section Circolo Porto di Livorno will have the honor of hosting the photographer Mario Mencacci (Wednesday, April 17, from 9.30 pm at the Cinema Theater 4 Mori). Born in Pontedera (Pisa) in 1961, where he still lives and works as an architect. In the 80s he started to get interested in photography and his training inevitably led him to have a personal perspective on the world. The symmetries, colors, and lines that are an integral part of his work find new perspectives in his photographs, redesigning reality.
His passion for street photography leads him to discover new expressive languages and he is instinctively inclined to capture details, sometimes curious, sometimes poetic, almost always invisible to the eyes of the distracted passerby.
His images receive positive feedback: awards in international contests, publications with interviews and portfolios in the magazine “Fotografare” and on various international art and photography websites. One of his photographs is requested by the United Nations, who publish it on the cover of one of their magazines.
He has held street photography workshops in various Italian cities and basic photography courses for schools, institutions, and associations.
