JAZZ FESTIVAL ON THE BOAT – “Along the banks of the Mississippi”

The JAZZ SUR LE BATEAU FESTIVAL continues at Villa Mimbelli, a journey between Art and Jazz curated by Rasenna Music Art Association, with the co-participation of the Municipality of Livorno and the contribution of the Livorno Foundation.

On Saturday, September 30th, at 5:30 pm, a concert by the Triple sec Trio will take place on the stage of the Villa Mimbelli theater, taking us “On the banks of the Mississippi”. The Triple sec Trio is composed of highly skilled and versatile musicians such as Mattia Donati on vocals and guitar, Claudio Laucci on piano, and Giulio Boschi on double bass, specializing in reviving and rediscovering jazz of the early 20s and 30s.

The concert will trace the journey that led to Giulio Boschi’s contemporary jazz. It includes both original compositions and jazz milestones by musicians such as Armstrong, Hines, and Ellington. The Triple sec Trio, by revisiting this music, which is enjoyable and sometimes lighthearted to listen to, yet artistically meritous, aims to bring it up to date with their own arrangements and improvisations.

The first concert on September 16th was a huge success, with performances by artists Max Fantolini, Giulio Boschi, and Umberto Falchini; thanks to the active participation of the audience, an extraordinary exchange of emotions took place, which only live music can create. This was also enhanced by the live creation of a painting by the artist Falchini inspired by the concert. Those who wish to admire this artwork, inspired by the concert, will find it exhibited at Villa Mimbelli on Saturday 30th.
