F for Frusciante – Frusciante Marathon

Federico Frusciante was one of the most important cultural promoters of his generation. With an inexhaustible passion and extraordinary communicative skills, he was able to combine cinema, music, and literature, transmitting their value to entire generations of enthusiasts. His strength was in breaking down every barrier between “high” culture and popular culture, showing how an art film and a genre film, a literary classic and a pop work, can be read as parts of a single great discourse on art.

Without hierarchies and prejudices, Frusciante taught to look at works for what they are and for the emotions they can generate. The overnight film marathon “F FOR FRUSCIANTE” is born with the intent of celebrating his cultural legacy and the deep mark he left in the Italian dissemination scene.

To accompany the audience in this tribute, some friends and collaborators who shared fundamental moments of his journey will be there: Alessandro Izzo and Francesca Detti from I Licaoni, with whom he took his first steps in online dissemination; Ciro Di Dato and Alessio Porquier, directors of the FIPILI Horror Festival, an event of which he was a central and irreplaceable figure; and finally Francesco Alò and Mattia Ferrari from the Criticoni collective. During the night, three surprise films chosen directly by the guests will be screened, in a journey through cinema and passions that characterized the human and cultural journey of Federico Frusciante.

The “F FOR FRUSCIANTE” project is born from the initiative of a collective of young people under 35 composed of Matilde Balzano, Emiliano Cicero, Gerardo Chelli, Lorenzo Pari, Matias Reyes, Federico Ristori, Giona Sapienza, and Mattia Uggeri, united by a deep connection with Federico Frusciante and by the desire to preserve and enhance his cultural legacy. The idea of the marathon takes shape from the desire to transform the memory into a collective experience, capable of engaging enthusiasts, cinephiles, and the curious in a moment of meeting and sharing.

Through cinema, dialogue, and the participation of friends and collaborators who accompanied Federico in his human and professional journey, the collective intends to pay tribute to a figure who profoundly influenced the way of living and telling culture, leaving an indelible mark on thousands of people.
