Hiking. Three days in nature on the Island of Capraia

It is Aegylon megas, the only island of volcanic origin in the Tuscan Archipelago, a place full of paths, coves, natural caves. Nature 100% to be experienced in every season. In autumn, it can be explored far and wide, the Mediterranean scrub has a special charm.
It is the island of habit! We gladly return, we love it.
We will walk all over the island starting from the sea to its interior, arriving at Mount Arpagna, Punta dello Zenobito and the majestic Cala Rossa below, Stagnone, the former penal colony, Teglia or Dattero, etc .; we will be overwhelmed by the colors and intense scents of the Mediterranean scrub … and then by the silence.
Highly recommended the boat tour around the island to realize how the island is made 360°!

first day:

Meeting in Livorno at the Mediceo dock
Boat Toremar h 08:30 – navigation duration 2h45′
Arrival and accommodation
TKK: Stagnone Ring with direttissima
Level E: hiking – medium effort
Length 12 km – Difference in height about 450m
Ring – packed lunch
Return to the port
Dinner and overnight stay

second day: Saturday 13th April
TKK to the south: Zenobito ring up to Cala Rossa passing through Mount Arpagna:
Level E: hiking – medium-high effort
Length 14 km – Difference in height about 500m
Ring – packed lunch
Return in the evening
Dinner and overnight stay

third day: Sunday 14th April
Breakfast and meeting at the port to take packed lunch
TKK to the north: Punta della Teglia
medium level
Level E: hiking – medium effort
Length 8/9 km – Difference in height about 300m
Round trip or with a short ring – packed lunch
Return to the port to buy typical island products and collect luggage
Toremar ship back with departure at 6:00 pm from Capraia and arrival in Livorno at 8:45 pm

alternatively to one of the tkk and optional: boat tour around the island in the morning and small ring of Reganico in the afternoon of 3/4 km with a tour of the village

it is recommended to adhere to these basic information for the success of the trip:
– LAYERED, SPORTY AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
– HIGH hiking SHOES with a well carved sole
– K-WAY/CLOAK IN CASE OF ADVERSE CONDITIONS
– useful hiking sticks

CODE OF CONDUCT AND GUIDANCE FROM THE GUIDES
• the guide has the right to cancel the excursion in case of bad weather or uncertain weather;
• it is mandatory to remain in the group, on the path indicated by the guide without straying;
• the guide has the right to change the route and/or the destination of the excursion in relation to meteorological conditions, the type of group accompanied or any other reason that the guide considers valid to justify such changes;
• it is the guide’s responsibility to calibrate the pace of the excursion based on the group’s training level,
even to the detriment of reaching the planned destination;
• Minors admitted from 16 years onwards unless otherwise indicated by the Guide: they can participate in excursions only if accompanied by one or more adults who are directly responsible for them; minors are
under the direct responsibility of parents or their direct representatives.
