Excursion on the Livorno hills towards the Sambuca Hermitage

The Livorno hills are a green gem, a few kilometers from the coast, behind the city of Livorno. They are an incredibly rich environment in water, rarely touched by fire and strangely isolated. This has made it a place of hermitage over the centuries, causing layers of human settlement and nature to create that unique mix that our countryside knows how to create. The path is always gentle, with some short climbs, and will take us through scrubland and oak forests, up to the beautiful Hermitage of Sambuca, where we will stop for a long lunch break before returning in a loop to our starting point.
