The great cinema under the stars at the Barchette Wharves

For all five evenings of Effetto Venezia 2026, the splendid setting of the Barchette Wharves turns into a unique cinema arena under the stars. The event “Effetto Cine!” is organized by the cultural association FiPiLi Horror Festival, organizer of the famous festival exploring fear between the big screen and literature.

For this special occasion, FiPiLi temporarily puts aside the shivers and horror films to fully embrace the theme of this edition: “Near Future – Ideas and stories of the new generations”. The result is a diverse, poetic, and stimulating film program, dedicated not only to cinephiles but also to those who are growing up as viewers.

Driving and pacing the evenings in Piazza dei Legnami there will be Tommaso Liguoro, a young and wildly popular host on the web for his interviews focused on young people’s dreams. Together with the directors of the FiPiLi Horror Festival, Alessio Porquier and Ciro Di Dato, Tommaso Liguoro will lead the meetings with the directors and guests, actively involving and interviewing the young people present in front of the screen.

• Directed by: Omar Rashid | Duration: 1h 45m A very recent documentary that captures the extraordinary success and evolution of contemporary Italian comics. The film explores the life and creative path of beloved comic artists such as Zerocalcare, Giacomo Bevilacqua, Sio and Maicol & Mirco, showing them both in their professional and personal dimensions. The screening will be introduced by the director Omar Rashid, who will be present in the arena to interact with the audience.
