The great cinema under the stars on the Barchette Wharves

For all five evenings of Venice Effect 2026, the splendid setting of the Barchette Wharves turns into a unique cinema arena under the stars. The cultural association FiPiLi Horror Festival, organizer of the famous festival that explores fear between the big screen and literature, signs the event “Effetto Cine!”.

For this special occasion, FiPiLi temporarily puts aside the chills and horror films to fully embrace the theme of this edition: “Next Future – Ideas and stories of the new generations”. The result is a varied, poetic, and stimulating film program, dedicated not only to cinephiles but also to those growing up as viewers.

Leading and setting the pace in Piazza dei Legnami will be Tommaso Liguoro, a young and very popular web presenter for his interviews about the dreams of young people. Together with the directors of FiPiLi Horror Festival, Alessio Porquier and Ciro Di Dato, Tommaso Liguori will host the meetings with directors and guests, involving and interviewing the young people present in front of the screen.

Sunday, August 2nd | SHORT FILM EVENING: DÈMADÈ & FANTASY

• Total duration: 2 hours
  The final evening is entirely dedicated to the small and large formats of short film, divided into two special parts:
• First part: The absolute protagonist will be Elaide Garufi, the very young director of “Démadé liberi di libri”, who will present the 4 short films directed exclusively by young people and awarded during the last edition of the homonymous literature festival for young people.
• Second part: An extraordinary selection of animated short films for kids with a fantasy and science fiction theme, curated directly by the management of FiPiLi Horror Festival.
