DanteinGallery “The Giants – Canto XXXI of Inferno”
On Saturday, March 9th at 5.30 pm at the premises of the Gallery “Le Stanze” at via Roma 92/a, the third and final appointment of the fourth season of Danteingalleria takes place, from an idea by and with Giacomo Romano
In Canto XXXI of the Inferno, the main theme is the journey as a crossing. We move from the Malebolge, to the pit where the traitors are punished. Dante and Virgil arrive at the edge of the pit where the Giants are, who “…are all around the pit from the edge/downward from the navel…” , they are compared to the round circle of Monteriggioni, crowned with towers.
The Giants, who are expressions of pride, are here sentenced to immobility, inertia, and silence. Reservation recommended.
