Each generation has its own soundtrack where songs represent an escape from what feels tight, made of songs to dream and dance to.

This is how what was current and important in terms of musical popularity in one era inevitably makes way for other music, sliding into a sort of oblivion what came before.

Now, however, there are social phenomena – first and foremost on TikTok, a platform so popular among Millennials and partly for Gen Z – where, something unthinkable until a few years ago, songs become extremely popular again and even new hits for the new generations.

With this concert, the two choirs, led by Maestro Cristiano Grasso who oversees all the arrangements, will lead the audience through songs that had a great impact of popularity when they were released or through their new life, projecting music beyond its time by creating an intergenerational substrate that brings together today’s teenagers with those of the past and future.

The SpringTime Choir, founded in 1998, and the Monday Girls Choir, founded in 2010, were born under the guidance of Maestro Cristiano Grasso, who is still their director. Since its first performance in April 1999 at the church of S. Ferdinando Re in Livorno, the SpringTime Choir stands out for the freshness and energy of the repertoire performance, which over more than 25 years has covered all Afro-American traditional music and specialized in the so-called “new standards” pop and rock, Italian and international, with always original arrangements personally curated by Maestro Cristiano Grasso.

The Monday Girls, on the other hand, were born as a simple all-female choir workshop which over time gained stability, becoming a full-fledged choir, choosing to interpret a repertoire that pays homage to the universe of female music.

Both choirs carry out intense concert activity, having performed over the years not only nationally but also abroad. The connection with social issues is important and heartfelt, supporting associations for disability and against violence towards women. Also important is the link with Maestro Grasso’s other choir, the UnAnime Choir, from the High Security section of the Le Sughere prison in Livorno, with whom they perform as part of a rehabilitation project through choral music.

Accompanying the choirs are Massimiliano Fantolini on piano and Giacomo Cirinei on percussion.
