Coppa Risi’atori in Strasbourg

Together with the Palio Marinaro and Coppa Barontini, the Coppa Risi’atori is part of the “trio” of Livorno rowing tradition. The race takes its name from the fearless port unloaders who, braving storms aboard small rowing boats, sought to secure the right to unload ships entering the port of Livorno, ready to throw themselves into the waves to assist ships in danger.

After three miles and thirty-five long minutes of open sea, from the Secche della Meloria to the port of Livorno, the Risi’atori ends, covering another mile and a half, in the “Darsena Nuova” in front of the Scali Novi Lena, in the heart of the Borgo Cappuccini neighborhood.

To close Straborgo, this year too the live broadcast of the ten-oar rowing race of the Coppa Risi’atori, broadcast from 6.30 pm on the big screen in Piazza Mazzini, on Granducato Tv (channel 15) and streaming on the channels of Visit Livorno, Gare Remiere and Granducato.

Commenting live on the epic effort of the ten-oar rowing crews, Fabrizio Pucci and Simona Poggianti will provide the commentary, while a fleet of drones will allow the race to be followed moment by moment also thanks to GPS tracking connected to the boats that will allow real-time gap evaluations.

This year also two new features: cameras will be placed inside the ten-oar rowing boats to increase audience engagement with new perspectives and listening to the helmsman’s directions. In addition, the number of drones will be increased to film, besides the head, also the tail of the race.

As the culmination of “Risi’atori 2025” the dinner on Monday, June 2nd in Piazza Mazzini, offered to all the nautical sections and during which the winning crews of the various categories will be awarded.
