Barontini Cup

The fascinating and intricate Barontini Cup, a time trial race on a course inside the Medici “fossi” canals. Dedicated to the memory of Ilio Barontini, a legendary partisan commander. This year marks the 55th edition. Three jumbo screens and live streaming on the Facebook pages Visit Livorno, Gare remiere, and Fondazione Lem. Competing first, starting at 8 pm, will be the 4-rower “gozzi” boats of the junior and female categories for the Edda Fagni Trophy (a 980-meter course starting from piazza Cavour and finishing at the Delle Cantine wharfs). At 10:30 pm it will be the turn of the 10-rower boats, with the usual 3,200-meter course (starting and ending in front of the Fortezza Nuova lawn) and start in reverse order to the finish of the last Risi’atori Cup. Awards ceremony scheduled for 11:30 pm.
