On the occasion of the Puccinian centenary, the festival presents the diptych Rustic Chivalry/Gianni Schicchi. The direction is by Giandomenico Vaccari, Marcello Mottadelli will conduct the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Goldoni di Livorno. Donata D’Annunzio Lombardi will be Santuzza, Paolo Lardizzone Turiddu, while the baritone Massimo Cavalletti will be Gianni Schicchi and will debut the role of Alfio. Alongside them, the students of the Mascagni Academy. The production will be a collaboration between the Mascagni Festival, Teatro Politeama Greco di Lecce and Teatro Marrucino di Chieti.
