The Italian popular culture has many faces, but when it comes to TV, songs, and entertainment, one cannot but think of Pippo Baudo. It’s been almost a year since he left us, after a life spent as a protagonist of the small screen, especially with Rai, where he hosted thirteen editions of the Sanremo Festival and numerous other entertainment programs. He launched artists of all kinds and is surely a reference that has crossed the eras, from the ’60s to the third millennium. Esatte a Villa Trossi, a festival promoted by the Trossi-Uberti Art Foundation and created by the Pietro Napoli Association, dedicates an evening to him with the show “Good evening with Pippo Baudo“, a journey through Italian television and music one year after the passing of the great host. The appointment is on Friday, July 24th, at 9:30 p.m., at Villa Tossi Uberti.

The audience present will be able to witness an original show that pays homage to the extraordinary career of Pippo Baudo through music, memories, and emotions that have accompanied entire generations of viewers. The journey will retrace the artistic life of the famous host: from the beginnings, also passing through his historic participation in the summer events of the Bagni Pancaldi in 1968, to the great television successes of Canzonissima, Fantastico, and the Sanremo Festival, which Baudo has turned into authentic milestones in the history of Italian entertainment.

It will not be a simple concert, but a narrative show in which anecdotes, curiosities, characters, and unforgettable moments will intertwine with the songs that have marked over half a century of television and culture. A journey into collective memory, when television brought families together and discreetly accompanied Italian evenings, leaving a heritage of emotions still alive. Beppe Grillo. Heather Parisi, Lorella Cuccarini, Laura Pausini, Giorgia: these are just some of the great artists launched by Pippo Baudo, who was also very connected to Tuscany and in 2012 even passed through Livorno as part of his camper tour for the TV program “Il viaggio”.

Giving voice and music to the story of this famous and unforgettable character will be a quintet formed by musicians with great experience: Barbara Terreni (vocals), Giacomo Riggi (piano), David D’Alesio (clarinet and sax), Nino Pellegrini (double bass), and Matteo Lenzi (percussion). The repertoire will propose famous TV jingles, songs that accompanied the most beloved programs, and unforgettable songs, alongside musical pieces that are less frequented today but still capable of moving.

“Good Evening with Pippo Baudo” is proposed as an affectionate tribute to an absolute protagonist of Italian popular culture, capable of narrating an era through television, music, and the great artists he discovered and valued.
