BEAT GENERATION
Musical (and non-musical) paths of the ’60s
Tuesday, June 25th, at 9:00 PM, at Parco Centro Città, for “Le notti della Biblioteca Vespucci-Colombo”, Alessio Colombini will present “BEAT GENERATION” – Musical (and non) routes of the ’60s. The event is organized by the Biblioteca Vespucci Colombo in collaboration with Erasmo Libri.
“Beat Generation – Musical and non paths of the ’60s”, conceived, written and performed by Alessio Colombini, is an event that caters to a heterogeneous audience, appealing to both young people who have recently discovered the ’60s and adults who have directly experienced that period. It is a historical-musical itinerary that proposes the most beautiful songs from the ’60s (from The Beatles to The Rolling Stones to Bob Dylan alternating the original versions with famous Italian covers).
The evening will be a captivating and original blend of words and music. Some of the songs that have made this decade famous, from Blowin’ in the Wind to Michelle, from Satisfaction to Hey Jude, are interspersed with famous Italian covers and moments where the artist revisits the highlights of culture, society, politics and art. Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dylan, Doors, Hendrix, Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, are just some of the rock “icons” that will come back to life thanks to the voice of Alessio Colombini who, after a long experience in the music industry and television (with Gianfranco Funari), returns to his first love: the song.
Alessio Colombini – Trained between classical music and ’60s rock, after several experiences with bands, he develops his own musicality. In 1972/73 he was the guitarist of Gianfranco Funari during his cabaret period at the Derby Club in Milan. In 1979 he released his first album “A proposito di me” with the CBS, participating in the “DiscoVerde” and “Festivalbar” contests. In 1982 he participated in the competition “Tre voci per Sanremo” on Domenica In, reaching the final with Tiziana Rivale and Giorgia Fiorio, with the song “Questo fare a meno di te”.
In 1983 he participated in Sanremo with the song “Scatole cinesi”. In 1985 he signed a record contract with Durium for the 45 rpm “Certi Giorni”. In 1987 with the independent label. In 1990 with the same label he recorded the album “Alessio Colombini”. In 1991/92 he produced the soundtrack for the De Agostini video encyclopedia “Gioia di conoscere”. Also in 1992 with the label “Radio Italia Solo Musica Italiana” he released the album “Ci sono momenti”.
In 1993 he was hired by Gianfranco Funari to take care of the musical segment of his Mediaset television programs until 1997. At the beginning of the show, he sang jingles in which he put the news of the day from the front pages of newspapers and news programs into music. Music consultant and author of the jingle “Funari si, Funari no” in the Rai Uno show “Apocalypse Show/Vietato Funari” – May 2007.
Currently, with author David Stansfield from Liverpool, he produces music for the international market. Author of commercials and soundtracks. In addition to composition, he performs his theatrical shows “Beat Generation – Musical and non paths of the ’60s” and “Beatles without borders”, historical/musical itineraries retracing dates, songs, events and curiosities of those years, performing with acoustic guitar and harmonica with songs from The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dylan, Animals, Procol Harum, Jimi Hendrix, Bee Gees, Mamas & Papas… etc.
