Bandão

is a percussion orchestra directed by maestros Francesco Petreni and Lorenzo Catacchini.

Although its roots are based on the rhythms of Brazilian, Cuban, and African music, its repertoire offers original rhythms and draws on sounds typical of Italian musical traditions fused with characteristic rhythms of distant countries and worlds. The result is an unprecedented contamination of different styles and sonorities that alternate and merge in unique music genres. A distinctive feature of many of the tracks is polyrhythm, that is, the simultaneous execution of multiple overlapping rhythms performed at the same time.
