Livorno Games & Comics

The planet of comics, the overwhelming passion for video games and the myth of pop imagery come to Livorno for a great event. From August 30 to September 1, at the Fortezza Nuova, the Livorno Games & Comics will take place: the festival of nerd culture and the fantasy world.

Exhibition stands, gaming areas, lots of music, and cosplay competitions will enliven the open spaces of the historic monument in the heart of the city, catapulting participants into an enchanted universe where they can live an exciting experience. The thematic insights of the event will be diverse and engaging. One area, in fact, will be entirely dedicated to epics like The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, another to superheroes and their feats, one to cartoons and anime set among pirate legends, a bricks area with works made of Lego bricks. In addition, there will be a zone where you can relive the history of video games – from the first consoles to arcade machines in the ’80s to the latest generation devices – and a large kids’ area for family fun.

In support of the event, the 2024 edition of the Mar Festival will make a stop, ready to transport the audience on a journey back in time to the ’80s and ’90s. The memory of carefree summers will be celebrated with tailor-made musical entertainment and a ’90s village showcasing collections of vinyl records and memorabilia typical of that period.
