After the great success of “The Crimes of Livorno”, Commissioner Botteghi returns. And after facing the story of the Corridi family, this time the investigation will lead Botteghi to a Risorgimento mystery linked to a handful of Livornese fighters who, under the command of Andrea Sgarallino, set sail aboard the ship Adelina during the Expedition of the Thousand to carry out a failed maneuver known as the “Zambianchi diversion”. However, when the same traces of methamphetamine found on the body of a Serbian chemist, discovered a few days later, are found on the victim’s wetsuit, the commissioner suspects something bigger behind it. Balancing between a historical enigma and drug trafficking, Botteghi will have to unravel a secret from the past as usual to solve the investigation, despite an ambiguous international detective willing to do anything to put obstacles in his way.
Diego Collaveri, musician, arranger, and screenwriter has already successfully published “The Salty Smell of the Fossi”, “The Secret of the Voltone”, “The Past Has a Price”, “The Doll of the Cisternino”, “Commissioner Botteghi and the Magician” and “The Crimes of Livorno”.
