What? Presentation of the book “Golden Set – stories of women and men who didn’t let themselves be crushed” by Marco Fantasia

Monday, April 22 at 6 PM at the Feltrinelli Bookstore in Livorno, at Via di Franco n.° 12, there will be a presentation of the book “Golden Set – stories of women and men who did not allow themselves to be crushed” by Marco Fantasia, journalist for RAI Sport and commentator of women’s volleyball.

Also present will be Giulia Aringhieri, a volleyball player from Livorno’s Dream Volley Pisa and a player on the Sitting Volley National Team, one of the athletes interviewed in the book, Eva Ceccatelli and Giulia Bellandi, her teammates in Dream Volley and on the National Team.

The discussion will be moderated by Silvia Cilliano, an editorial copywriter, along with Eva Bertolacci, a journalist.

Marco Fantasia’s book tells the stories of athletes such as Eleonora Lo Bianco, Luciano De Cecco, Marco Meoni, Noemi Signorile, Giulia Aringhieri, Federica Stufi, Alessia Orro and many others: well-known faces in volleyball but not only, like Anna Basta, rhythmic gymnastics champion. Each story begins with a difficulty and the determination to turn it into an opportunity for rebirth.

Fantasia’s narrative is intimate, insightful, and thought-provoking; the journalist shows the same empathy and professionalism in his writing as he does on television, making him one of the most beloved commentators, paired with colleague Giulia Pisani, a sports commentator, sports manager, and volleyball champion.

Giulia Pisani, Fantasia’s broadcast partner, will also be present with the author during the book presentation at the Livorno bookstore.

The event will be an opportunity to reflect on these impactful stories together with the author and Giulia Aringhieri, in a dialogue about the potential of each of us to rise in the face of difficult moments. In such a context, sports become a metaphor for life, showing that when faced with the highest obstacles, the “monsters”, it is difficult to overcome them alone.

The only way to overcome our fears is to ask for help from the right people: be they friends, relatives, or professionals (psychologists, psychiatrists, mental coaches). Their intervention and advice, as explained by the book’s protagonists, are crucial for healing and rebirth.
