The book by Riccardo Pasquinelli, the result of many months of intense and tight editorial work, is an important book as it reconstructs the most significant industrial reconversion and urban redevelopment operation of the last 25 years in Livorno. Enhanced by 14 fundamental interviews with the protagonists of the time, the book tells over 20 years of an important piece of the city’s history. And it does so following a dual track: that of strictly historical, punctual reconstruction of the facts in which the author’s reporting skills clearly emerge and that of the interviews with some key figures who experienced, followed, managed the transformation of the Orlando shipyard and the birth of Porta a Mare.
