Tour Effect: Venice lights up with stories

Thursday, July 30th: “Tour Effect: Venice lights up with stories”, a new itinerary designed to experience the neighborhood from a different perspective, letting ourselves be guided by the stories that still preserve its identity.

We will walk in the heart of the New Venice, the neighborhood wanted by the Medici family in the seventeenth century as the hub of the port city. Even today, its waterways, stone bridges, warehouses, and picturesque views tell the story of a cosmopolitan Livorno, born thanks to the port and the encounter between peoples and cultures.

During the visit we will get to know some of the protagonists who have contributed to making this place famous: Ferdinando I de’ Medici, the creator of modern Livorno, Enrico Pollastrini, a painter who was able to portray the city of the nineteenth century with his works, and others. Among alleys, canals, and squares, their stories will come back to life, returning all the charm of a past that can still be perceived when walking in Venice.

The tour will end at the New Fortress, a symbol of Medici power and the heart of historical Livorno. Here, surrounded by the lights and festive atmosphere of Effetto Venezia, we will end the evening with a tasting of the traditional 5&5, kindly offered by Pizzeria Carlo and Nadia.
