Cinema Effect! Igor – The Romantic Hero of Soccer

The great cinema under the stars at the Barchette Docks

For all five evenings of Effetto Venezia 2026, the splendid setting of the Barchette Docks transforms into a unique cinema arena under the stars. The event “Effetto Cine!” is curated by the cultural association FiPiLi Horror Festival, organizer of the famous festival that explores fear in the realm of cinema and literature.

For this special occasion, FiPiLi temporarily sets aside the chills and horror films to fully embrace the theme of this edition: “Near Future – Ideas and stories of the new generations”. The result is a diverse, poetic, and stimulating film program, dedicated not only to cinephiles but also to those who are growing up as spectators.

Guiding and setting the pace for the evenings in Piazza dei Legnami will be Tommaso Liguoro, a young and popular web presenter known for his interviews focused on young people’s dreams. Alongside the directors of the FiPiLi Horror Festival, Alessio Porquier and Ciro Di Dato, Tommaso Liguori will host the meetings with directors and guests, engaging and interviewing the young audience in front of the screen.

• Directed by: Luca Dal Canto | Duration: 1h 30m An evening dedicated to a character of total inspiration for Livorno and the new generations. Produced by Luca Dal Canto and Alberto Battocchi, this documentary traces the romantic football career of Igor Protti, timeless provincial striker. After the great success already achieved in city screenings, the film lands at Effetto Venezia in the presence of the technical cast, who will introduce the evening.
