If C’AVEVA LE ROTE it was a theater!

In the 6th century BC, the Athenian poet Thespis was born and worked, considered the inventor of Greek tragedy. It was still him, the main inspiration for a traveling company, called the “Thespian wagon“, with which the playwright brought his tragedies to half of Attica. For many centuries, the wagon was the means and place of a mobile theatrical activity where the Commedia dell’Arte actors performed their jokes and antics in a thousand squares in front of a thousand different audiences.

Today, after more than 2500 years, a wagon arrives at Effetto Venezia and it is that of Sir John Falstaff, a Shakespearean and Verdi knight, extravagant and voracious in various appetites. The Goldoni Foundation thus leaves its Theater to go elsewhere, to meet the visitors of our city’s biggest and most famous neighborhood festival, a festival that Sir John would surely have loved, being rich in beautiful women and excellent wines!!!

We therefore await you at Falstaff’s wagon to play with him in the great game of Life and Theater, two stages that seem to remind us that “all the world’s a stage”!!!
