This theatrical project stems from the idea of bringing to the lively stage the voice (and body) of a literary character, and subsequently television, which over the years has won over a vast audience of readers and viewers. Vincenzo Malinconico, the unsuccessful lawyer with a shaky career and an unstable love life (and perhaps precisely for this reason welcomed by an audience who does not like to identify with winners, ultimately predictable and boring), entrusts the telling of his stories – but above all of his stumbling in the complications of life common to all of us – to the acting skills of an interpreter capable as few to assimilate and render the intimate essence of a literary character. Massimiliano Gallo, already known to the general public for his ability to traverse cinema, theater and television with a versatility born of a long apprenticeship, since the debut of the series produced and broadcast by the national television network has embodied with a genetically Neapolitan sense of humor the philosophical and strictly self-taught attitude of Malinconico, combining with lightness and musicality the nature at once reflective and abstract, disoriented and confused, adult and childlike, of a man grappling with the difficulties of living, who with a constantly sharp sense of the ridiculous on reality (and especially on himself) struggles with the discomfort of not feeling comfortable in the roles that life assigns him. Because it is not easy to feel up to the various tasks to which the days call us, calling us in turn as workers, professionals, parents, spouses, lovers, friends: the many complex categories of life in which we must reinvent ourselves each time, subjecting ourselves to those exams of our being in the world that, as a master of theater has taught us, never end. Our show will see on stage, in the fullness of his interpreter skills, Vincenzo Malinconico, who will abandon himself, with his ruminative, philosophical, irresistibly comical but always reflective narrative flow (because to truly make others laugh you have to convince, that is, speak to the other person’s intelligence), to a long, confidential monologue with the audience, telling thematically about himself. The show will be divided into three sections: profession, feelings, family, the three great fields of play on which the game of life is played by all of us. An essential and engaging show where literature and theater meet, and that will allow the audience to rediscover, in the physical sharpness of the stage, a character with a dysfunctional and unresolved life that makes us laugh more when we suddenly discover he is similar to us.
