Alessandro Beloli presents GEOPOLITICS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

The meeting, presented by Marianna Daniele, Geography teacher at Istituto Vespucci, is realized in collaboration with Feltrinelli Bookstore, with the funding of the Reading Promotion Fund and with the support of AIIG (Italian Association of Geography Teachers) Tuscany section.

Navigating through oceans, space, and the web, Alessandro Beloli provides us with a compass to orient ourselves in the media chaos and finally understand the world we live in.

Who rules the world? Will there be a Third World War? Will AI replace us? And why does everyone want Greenland? These are just some of the questions that many of us ask ourselves every day, but it is difficult to answer them due to the tangle of information we are constantly immersed in. The only way to try to unravel the knots and understand reality is to wear the right pair of “glasses” to observe it, understand it, and try to predict its developments. That’s why this book was born: like a toolbox, it contains everything needed to uncover the complex machine that is our present, study its gears, and get an idea of how they work and what can instead jam them (and maybe it’s already doing it). Demography, maritime routes, controversial borders, satellite orbits, nuclear warheads, data centers: these and other aspects of our historical era are shown in the many maps that enrich the volume, with the addition of ten exclusive in-depth videos – accessible via QR Code – designed by the author as a supplement to the book.

Alessandro Beloli has a degree in Geographic Sciences and was among the disseminators of the Geopop editorial project, where he coordinated the humanistic and geopolitical area. He has also taught in high schools and worked as a facilitator in the development of socio-environmental projects.
