The exhibition, free of charge, will remain open until January 18, 2026 from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Saturday, November 22nd at 4.00 pm at the City Museum of Livorno, Cultural Center of Bottini dell’Olio, Piazza del Luogo Pio, opens “The Vernacoliere on display. Posters, panels and much more”. On display over 300 posters covering the entire history of the famous satirical newspaper in Livornese dialect, from 1982 to 2025.
The exhibition will also feature 3 in-depth sections dedicated to:
Comics and characters of the Vernacoliere: Panels will be exhibited, also in original form, by the artists who have collaborated with the newspaper. Among the artists exhibited: Alberto Pagliaro, Andrea Rovati, Ettore Ferrini, Giuliano Lemmi, Guido Amato, Daniele Caluri, Andre Camerini, Marco Citi, Tommy Eppesteingher, David Lubrano, Emiliano Pagani, Federico Maria Sardelli, Max Greggio
The Modigliani Heads: the niche of the City Museum already dedicated to the false heads of Modigliani will be enriched by the exhibition of 3 iconic posters dedicated to the event (A saw found)
Editorialists from yesterday and today: reproductions of some articles and editorials from the history of the Vernacoliere will be exhibited. Among the authors Mario Cardinali, Ettore Borzacchini, Claudio Marmugi, Ettore Ferrini, Maria Turchetto.
The free entry exhibition will remain open until January 18, 2026 from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm. Every Saturday, throughout the duration of the exhibition, from November 29th to January 17th, there will be meetings with cartoonists and editorialists who will talk about their experience with the Vernacoliere. The cartoonists will create live sketches of their most iconic characters, to share with the public how the creative idea comes to life and develops. The meetings, titled “The Saturday of the Vernacoliere”, will be introduced and moderated by some students from the Scientific High School with an Artistic Address Cecioni.
