With the arrival of the summer season, the services offered by Autolinee Toscane change and increase. In collaboration with the Municipality of Livorno, AT relaunches the campaign “Al Mare in 20”, active from June 14th to September 14th. Line 20, which will connect the beaches of the Livorno coast between Antignano and Chioma, will be operational on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 8 pm, also on Ferragosto. All completely free. As stated by the Mobility Councillor, Giovanna Cepparello, the service was established following requests from the students of the Environment and Mobility Commission of the Municipality of Livorno.
“Local transportation is going very well, both in terms of ticket sales and the number of people using it. We will continue to monitor and try to make it work even better,” highlights Cepparello. Unlike last year, line 20 will depart from the La Rosa neighborhood, with a stop in Via Machiavelli, approximately every 30 minutes, passing through the Ardenza and Antignano neighborhoods. “An important innovation because La Rosa offers a good number of parking spaces and, above all, because it will reduce parking issues in the areas near the sea accesses.” “The departure of line 20 from the La Rosa neighborhood will certainly allow an increase in the user base,” intervenes Simone Talamucci, who, with Riccardo Nannipieri, represents Autolinee Toscane – We hope to meet the needs of the various users.”
However, the changes do not only concern line 20. In local public transportation, there will also be changes to the route and frequency of lines 15 and 21. “Line 15 is the one that will undergo the most substantial change – continues Talamucci – creating a north-south route passing through a series of neighborhoods including the center.” The line will be back in operation in the Picchianti craft area, including some important medical centers, and in a part of the residential area. The old line 15, consequently, will extend to the Picchianti area and reach the Central Station after passing through the underpass of La Cigna and Via Donnini. Extensions are also planned for line 21 (night), which, linked to 22, will start reaching Miramare – Via Pigafetta, allowing you to reach the Antignano neighborhood. With the start of the summer service, as has been the case for some years now, lines 16 and 18 will also reach the sea. Praise for the developments of the Livorno’s public transportation service has also come from the Zona 5 Council, whose requests have allowed part of the change. “These developments are important and fundamental also for the future, and I say this as a citizen,” declares the president of the Zona 5 Council, Marco Chimenti – The economic effort put in by the Municipality of Livorno behind all this is visible. As representatives of Zona 5, in the southern area of Livorno, we are happy.” “All this is a real example of good collaboration between citizens and the Municipal Administration,” intervenes Daniela Marini, president of the Vivi Antignano association – The need was felt by citizens, especially women, since the institution of the Zona Councils. Responding to this need, which started from the bottom, is a demonstration of how active collaboration is.” It should not be forgotten that, on the occasion of the Jubilee, the funicular is also free every Sunday, including Ferragosto, until October 26th. In addition to discounts and special promotions reserved for AT subscribers (for Cavallino Matto, Acqua Village, Acquario di Livorno, and many others), Autolinee Toscane offers continuous benefits communicated and spread through the company’s digital channels and the page www.at-bus.it/it/scopri/promozioni-abbonati.
