Biennal of the Sea and Water – May 16th

Mascagni Terrace In the morning the event “A sea of friends” will take place: a demonstration and educational exercise promoted by the Harbor Master’s Office, with interactive stands and simulations by the Civil Protection Village. There will also be initiatives dedicated to the theme of welcoming from the sea, with testimonies and insights.

Naval Academy At the Naval Academy, meetings organized by ANCI and the Tuscany Region on environmental conservation in response to climate change. Among others, the Interreg Proterina project will be presented.

Creative Hangars The Creative Hangars will host interventions on sustainable tourism, shipbuilding, and navigation by Benetti Navigo, Porto 2000, Port System Authority, Municipality of Livorno, and Tuscany Tourist Promotion.

Pancaldi Palace On this day, at Pancaldi Palace, water services will be discussed in light of the major climate changes with interventions curated by ASA, CISPEL, and Utilitalia.

Palazzo Hotel In the morning, a national conference with ANBI Consorzi di Bonifica and ARERA. The discussion will focus on irrigation systems for agriculture and the challenges for a more efficient management of water resources.

Livorno Aquarium In the afternoon, the programming of the “Humor Festival: Antani. Comedy and satire as if it were” starts at the Livorno Aquarium with organization by the Livorno Foundation.

Special visits

• Visit to the ships anchored at the Benetti and Lusben Shipyard (Leonardo Navy Marina Ship)
• Tour of the Naval Academy
• Visit to the Crypt of San Jacopo

Sea and Water Tour From Moletto Nazario Sauro and Scali Novi Lena, tours depart for Meloria, Porto, Fortezze, Cisternone, Terme del Corallo, and Sorgenti Leopoldine.

Grand evening finale The day will end with a free evening show at the Creative Hangars dedicated to the history of the Livorno Port Workers Company.
