Barontini Cup 2025

The Barontini Cup, a unique rowing race among those in Livorno, as it is held on a timed basis. It usually takes place in June and involves 10-oared gozzi and 4-oared gozzette, which compete in separate heats. The boats start one at a time from the Scali delle Cantine, in front of the Fortezza Nuova, and cover a 3,200 meter circuit in the Medici canals of the historic center, with the finish line at the same starting point. The course is narrow and winding, similar to a slalom on the water, where the skill of the coxswain and the harmony of the crew matter more than just physical strength.
