PLATONICK DIVE live @The Cage

From the last time at The Cage – and also in Livorno – nine years have passed, and a little less since the last live concert. It is indeed 2018 when the Platonick Dive go around on their last tour, on the occasion of promoting their third album, Social Habits. Today, fifteen years after their formation, they return live with the twelve new tracks from the album released last September for the cult label of Hamburg Moment of Collapse, Take a Deep Breath. A post-rock album far from the burden of melancholy and slowness clichés typical of the genre, in which, on the contrary, dynamic and fresh atmospheres are tasted, melodic solutions free from limits and conventions, where the result is a music that smells of summer. Twelve tracks that invite to dance and, for this reason, are perfectly suited to the rediscovered dimension of the stage. Gabriele Centelli (guitar, keyboards, vocals, sampler), Marco Figliè (guitar, effects, sampler) and Jonathan Nelli (drums) thus return to play live in what is undoubtedly a place of the heart. A truly tempting opportunity for fans who have been waiting for their return to the stage for years and good news for a group that was born in Livorno and quickly gained the attention of the international scene, with opening acts for names like Explosions In The Sky, Efterklang, Blonde Redhead, Jon Hopkins, Four Tet, These New Puritans, Gold Panda, Sun Glitters, God Is An Astronaut and This Will Destroy You. Let it be clear, the Platonick Dive’s stop from music was not actually a stop. On the contrary: although the Livorno trio was away from the stages long before the pandemic stop, the three continued to play together, dedicating themselves mainly to composing soundtracks. Their idea, after all, has always been that music should and can be therapeutic and should represent an essential part of our lives and our evolution.
