This year the sailing village will take shape at Porta a Mare, near the Historical Workshops of Livorno, and at the adjacent Medici Dock the Boat Show has been planned, an interactive exhibition of vintage Sails of the Navy and more

For the current year we are back on course. From April 25, 2025 the sail dance will begin coloring the seas of the Livorno coast, in the waters in front of the Marina Cala de’ Medici tourist port, the Sailing Clubs of Castiglioncello, Quercianella, and Livorno.

This year the International Sailing Week will host the following racing classes, seven of which are designated by the Italian Sailing Federation, national level competitions: Optimist, Open skiff, Wing foil, Fly junior, Fly Dutchman, Fireball, J24 and Hansa 303/2.4 MR/Martin 16, J70 and Star. For the Star class, which has its roots in the history of sailing, the first Admiral Agostino Straulino Trophy has also been organized, legendary Italian sailor and Olympic gold medalist in sailing. This competition will take place in the rich schedule of events of the event, which will start precisely on the weekend of April 20-21 with seven races, and then end the following weekend with six more competitions.

This year the sailing village will take shape at Porta a Mare, near the Historic Workshops of Livorno, and at the adjacent Molo Mediceo the Boat Show has been planned, an interactive exhibition of vintage sails of the Navy and more.

As usual, the Naval Academy is the promoter of the NAR, the competition between Foreign Navies that compete sportingly aboard the Tridente 16 and that this year will also see the participation of a significant number of foreign training institutions, with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the international field.

Finally, in the seventh edition, the Yacht Club Livorno, with the support of UVAI and the participation of the Sailing Section of the Navy, the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, and the Yacht Club Capri, has organized, from April 27 to May 02, the RAN 630, an Offshore Regatta that will take sailors to face a 630 nautical mile route from Livorno to the Costa Smeralda, with a buoy round to Capri and back.

Multiple novelties will enhance the range of side events surrounding the event, simultaneously enhancing the sports village which, together with the Naval Academy, will become the center of gravity of the Sailing Week, in order to spread knowledge and values of this wonderful sport also beyond the city.
