VELVET VEGA

Velvet Vega is a post-punk/electro-punk/darkwave duo from Livorno, formed by Chiara Lucarelli (vocals, synthesizers) and Francesco Sorgente (guitar, programming). During the summer of 2018, they entered the studio with Niccolò Mazzantini (Appaloosa) to produce their first album “Collapsing”, released on the Swiss Dark Nights label. They performed at several Italian festivals between 2018 and 2019, and the following year they released the maxi-single “Can’t control”, which includes two new songs and two remixes. Their second album, “We’ll never get back”, was released on December 4, 2023. Nine tracks in which the band explores new territory, less aggressive and explosive than the first album, while maintaining their distinctive powerful, dark and deep sound. Written and recorded between 2020 and 2021, it contains anger, frustration, fear and helplessness. The main themes, in addition to being inspired by current events, reveal inner demons and forbidden feelings.
